Check point
Skateboard
In our contemporary society, in perpetual motion, cultures are constantly redefined. As a result, when a novelty comes up against a tradition, it causes conflicts. The equilibrium is restored only after its complete assimilation. The motif presented here reflects the superposition of two cultures. The first, Oriental, appears in the form of a labyrinth of Islamic figures. When the novelty arrives, the image is scattered in a chaotic pattern that abolishes borders and rules. Checkpoint tells precisely this story of the meeting of cultures. This is even more stressed by the expression Bidoun Fawassel, which in popular Arabic means “without stop”, “without boundaries”. Both concepts make the voice of a whole generation, willing to go beyond its culture in order to improve it at the cost of serious challenges.
